V A N S

Vans is my first published photo book. It is comprised of entirely appropriated photos from the Flickr commons. Each photo is associated with the word “van”. Some images are directly translated as there are many shots of actual vans and famous icons like Van Halen and Dick Van Dyke; whereas others are non-visually related. There are shots taken in Van Buren county, the bench in front of the Van Gough museum, and iconic art installations in Vancouver, Canada. 

The design was very important to the overall success of the book. Everything was equally considered and processed to perfection. This book is simplistic yet complex. It challenges the readers perspective. It prompts the reader’s attention to detail and engages the idea of complex simplicity.
